So awhile back, while still working at the NFB, I was asked to appear on a children's t.v. show called "The Jungle Room".  It's sort of a reality show based on the everyday lives of a group of kids at a daycare.  In this episode they learn about making animation. I was on it with my good friend Kris, and we taught them the basics of animation, and I got to make a set and some clay characters and as well.  Here are some snapshots from the DVD they sent me of the episode.  I also posted some pics of the set I made in comparison to the actual "jungle room" where the show usually takes place.  I also added a pic of the credits(where my name appears under animation, characters, and set Design..my maiden name anyways) Enjoy :)

NFB stuff

Here's a set and some random characters I did for the NFB back in 2010, OF the NFB Mediatheque at John and Richmond St. It was for the winter program calendar and it was so much fun to work on. I have no idea where the set or characters are today, but I hope they're in a good place. At least I got some pics of them :)

Here's an old sculpt I did. It was done last year but I never got around to finishing it until recently. It was sculpted from a live model....though I changed her features up a bit to make her a little more interesting. :)

New month, new Sculpt! Last week I started the armature process for my new sculpt "Tongue Twister". Here are some pics of the armature. Each of it's six arms are completely detachable, as is it's head.  Please excuse all the junk on my desk.....that's actually pretty clean compared to how I usually have it when I'm working.  :) Have a great day!

Here's a sculpt I did not too long ago loosely based on a friend's character. I haven't had time to mold/cast her yet but it's on my list of things to do....I drew in some eyes just for fun :) You can check out my friend Jeff's work here

Here are two sets I did a while back for the Canada Science and Technology Museum.  They were to be used for childrens animation workshops in Ottawa. I had fun working on them but was on a fairly tight schedule and on the day I had to ship these sets to Ottawa(from Toronto) I was extremely stressed not knowing how well they would ship and if they would arrive in one piece.  Luckily they arrived on time with only a few damages that were easily fixed. The characters were used as demo characters for the kids, and were tossed out afterwards(As I mentioned before, they are only meant to be used once or twice in a 5 second animation, and I was on a tight budget and schedule) Hope you like :)
